The Sustainable Foods Summit is a series of summits that focuses on the leading issues the food industry faces concerning sustainability and eco-labels such as Organic, Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, etc.
The fifth edition of this executive summit will take place in San Francisco on 17-18th January 2012 and explores new horizons in sustainability for eco-labels. The North American edition of this executive summit looks at the ways the food industry can reduce its environmental impact by using sustainable ingredients and packaging. With many companies looking at packaging impacts, the summit explores the gamut of sustainable packaging options available. The use of sustainable ingredients in food products is examined: how can food & beverage companies reduce the ecological and social impacts of their products by using sustainable ingredients? As in previous editions, case studies will be given of companies at the cutting edge of sustainability initiatives.
Like previous events organised by Organic Monitor, the summit will bring together key stake-holders in the food industry and debate these major issues in a high-level forum.
